I have just given the lesson 9 from gospel principles manual and would like to share the inspiration i received preparing for this lesson. I was inspired by the spirit whilst preparing my lesson to share with the sisters the counsel given by our prophet of the church and the 12 apostles from april 2010 conference and to let them know of the significance and blessing it is to have this revelation, help and guidance for us in these latter-days. I was inspired to share the roles of a prophet which i did using an acrostic poem with the word PROPHET and sisters were split into groups where they had a letter each with a reference where they had to find from that scripture the role of a prophet then come up and put their sentence next to the starting letter. It was really good for stimulating the sisters minds and having them in their scriptures and finding the hidden answer that layed within that scripture. I think sometimes we all to well read, listen and get uplifted from these inspired men but forget to put the belief of our testimonies that they are prophets of God into action. Our belief becomes action when we follow the words of the prophet. Seeing the counsel, encouragement and warnings and promises in a booklet form really helped the sisters see how much we really need to start abiding these words and making them part of our lives and in our families. After all the message our Heavenly Father poured out to us at conference was.....FAMILIES, IT STARTS IN THE HOME. PARENTING AND TEACHING THE CHILDREN THE GOSPEL...and so much more...
Love to inspire and really love my teaching calling in relief society...claire xx
